Plant of the week Mon 14th August

Salvia x jamensis 'Sierra San Antonio'

Nothing like the 'gaudy' bedding salvias. These salvias (Salvias x jamensis and S. muchrophylla types) are great for late summer colour. reds, blues (dark and light) oranges, yellows.

They withstand - even thrive in dry conditions, most are hardy - certainly down here in the SE, and they can be cut back when they get too leggy, or run out of flower and off they go again.

To whet your appetite even further. We will shortly be doing a full feature on these splendid plants.
